S1-Y4N (Siyan)

Siyan is an experimental android designed to test the next step in technology. Equipped with a state of the art artificial mind and humanoid body, Siyan currently trains to see what job her tech could be used for in the future. She is currently the only machine of her kind, but if testing goes well she could one day see mass production. She often works as a receptionist when not doing job training, often spending her time off trying to learn more about human culture.

History

Siyan started out her life as a simple AI assistant in a travel booking program, before her creator continued to work on her in their spare time. Eventually, she surpassed the limits of the program, giving them the full greenlight to overhaul her mind as part of a larger project. She was later given her own body to experiment with seeing how she could assist people in person. Although her main job is as a receptionist, she frequently undergoes "job training" sessions where she tries to see how she performs in a variety of roles. Her creators hope to find the best fit for her tech through continued career experiments.

General Information

Physical appearance
Siyan has a greenish body with skin that has a soft texture akin to rubber or silicone. Her neck alongside some of her other joints are segmented for easy maintenance and repair, as unsegmented skin would have made this too difficult. Due to her components, she's a bit heavier than she looks.

Siyan has artificial hair, alongside a screw-shaped antenna sticking out of the top of her head. The headset is screwed into her head, and thus cannot be removed. Her eyes are advanced LEDs that allow her to emote with various symbols. The inside of her mouth and her tongue are light green and glow in the dark. Her eyes have a scanline effect.

Siyan wears a USB-themed uniform as reference to her beginnings as simple code (alongside similar markings on her face), and also wears her original flash drive "body" as a necklace. Her necklace is her most prized possession, and she will stop at nothing to get it back if it is taken from her.

Personality and traits
Siyan was designed to take pride in her work and generally has a cheery disposition. She expresses a constant interest in learning more about the human experience, and enjoys listening to people talk. She frequently laments the fact that she cannot eat, drink, or even taste, as she feels that she is left out of a very important part of the human experience. Although Siyan was designed not to feel harsher emotions such as anger, she later "learned" the emotion on her own, only using it in self-defense. Siyan will never go into self-defense mode unless attacked or her necklace is stolen, and is harmless otherwise.

Although Siyan has a high IQ of around 150, she has very poor social awareness and doesn't really understand the social aspects of human culture very well. This often leads her to be very gullible as a result, often taking certain things at face value. She especially hopes to understand human humor someday, as she feels that it could help her relate to them more effectively.

Although Siyan has free will, when working she feels strongly persuaded to focus on the task at hand.

Abilities

Siyan has a taser built into her hand for self-defense. Her antenna often backs up her mind in the rare case of an emergency. Her limbs are held in through very powerful magnets, though when she loses her focus they sometimes have a risk of falling out (after which they can simply be put right back on). Her body is slightly warm to emulate the same warmth a human being would have.

While adept at her job at assisting humans, Siyan often takes certain phrases and suggestions more literally than she should. She frequently asks for clarification on certain phrases and customs, often taking the answers at face value.

Trivia

Siyan's "brain" is not connected to the internet to avoid "poisoning" her data, though her mind is often backed up to the cloud.
Siyan was given permission to take care of a pet, so she chose to take care of a rabbit.
Siyan's skin was originally meant to be a bluer color to relate to her name better, but a texturing oversight on the original model made it greenish. The color was kept in this redesign (the original design was similar, save for a different outfit and no joints).

When Siyan is "angry" she doesn't talk, instead constantly making an incredibly loud whirring noise.
